After the windows 8 install I chose my 64gb ssd as the boot drive and the 1tb HDD didn't show up. I try to get it to show up and I can save things to it, but the default drive is the C drive (SSD) what can I do this so the default drive is the HDD so when I save something I know it will go onto the HDD. Also do I need to format it or is it good to go as it is? Thanks.

you cannot change the default drive because your windows is installed on it.
but you can save your things in any drive you want.
i suggest you to leave the default drive as it is because the SSD is much faster.
but if still you want to change it you have to reinstall windows on the second drive.
