How to Boot to the Desktop in Windows 8.1 Directly

Many users feel upset about the Windows 8 cannot boot up straightly to the Desktop. And Microsoft indeed does not support users to do that setting. So, booting up directly to the Desktop is not available for Windows 8 users. However, in the later version, Windows 8.1, Microsoft enables this feature in Windows 8.1. If you want to skip the Start Screen, you just need to finish a few steps. Here’s the detailed guide.

Step 1: Bring up the Windows and go to the Desktop

Step 2: Right click on the taskbar. From the contextual menu, click on Properties option.

Step 3: Click on the Navigation tab

Step 4: Navigate to the Start screen section, please check the box which says “When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start”.

When it is done, click OK. And next time you launch your machine, you will be able to boot straightly to the Desktop.
